Neil A's 1981 2.0S        

Meet "The Lady", a 1981 Ford Capri 2.0S.  I bought her in March 2001 from her second owner who had had her since the autumn of 1982! 

The moment I saw her, I had to have her.  I'd alway wanted an S since I was about 8 and was allowed to stay up and watch The Professionals.  Now here one was.....in a rare colour (Forest Green) and with the de rigeur Fishnet Recaros which were in very good nick.  Mmmmm Orange and Black tartan, I was in retro heaven!

All MoT's were present and correct and confirmed a genuine 75,000 mileage and there was a few bills, the handbook, radio manual  and a 1981 Ford brochure!!!!!

She ran sweet as a nut, but was a bit crusty around the edges and pulled to the left due to a dodgy caliper. 

The exchange of a not unreasonable amount of drinking vouchers secured her and a few more fixed the brakes. 

The rest of 2001 was spent having a bit of a play, sorting out the rust as best I could, making a few like-minded friends in Clare and Simon and attending a few shows.

Unfortunately in early 2002 my job took over my life and I was forced to sell "The Lady". It broke my heart but I know she went to a good home and infact the guy that owns her now is a member of this site/club. Check out the "James" Profile on the Members List.
